What are the drain valves

Posted by Bundor valve
Among them, the most widely used valves are various types of medium and low pressure valves, including various types of butterfly valves and gate valves. as well as ball valves, check valves, exhaust valves, plug valves, diaphragm valves, pressure reducing valves, flow regulating valves, mud discharge valves, etc.

Drain valve is a widely used valve in the water industry. Sewage and liquid discharge must pass through the drain valve. There are many types of drain valves, which can be divided into automatic, power driven and manual according to the power mode. They also can be divided into stop valves, check valves, ball valves, traps, etc. according to their uses and functions. Different valves are suitable for different working conditions.

Drain valves are commonly used in domestic water supply, fire protection systems and industrial water supply systems. Used to control flow, water level, etc. Common products are: 100X remote control float valve, 200X pressure reducing valve, 300X slow-closing check valve, 400X flow control valve, 500X pressure relief holding valve, etc. And various pressure reducing valves, check valves, etc. The drain valve can also be used for draining sewage pipes, effectively controlling the water level.

What are the types of drain valves? Let’s introduce to you.

(1) Globe valve
Globe valve is a commonly used shut-off valve, which is suitable for a wide range of pressure and temperature, but is generally used for medium and small diameter pipes.
(2) Throttle valve
Throttle valves are used to control the pressure and flow of fluid by changing the cross-section of the flow channel. They are regulating valves, However, due to their structural limitations, they do not have the regulating characteristics of regulating valves, so they cannot be used instead of regulating valves.

(3) Check valve
Check valve is a valve that can automatically prevent the fluid from flowing backwards. The valve disc of the check valve is opened under the action of fluid, and the fluid flows from the inlet side to the outlet side. When the pressure at the inlet side is lower than the outlet side, the valve disc automatically closes under the effect of the fluid pressure difference and its own gravity to prevent fluid from flowing backward .
(4) Ball valve
Ball valve is a valve which uses a ball with a circular through hole as the opening and closing part, and the ball rotates with the valve stem to realize the opening and closing action of the valve.

(5) Plug valve
The plug valve is a valve that uses a plug body with a hole as the opening and closing part,  and the plug body rotates with the valve stem to realize the opening and closing action. Usually used for low pressure and small caliber occasions.
(6) Pressure reducing valve
The pressure reducing valve is a type of regulating valve. It reduces the inlet pressure to a certain required outlet pressure by throttling the opening and closing parts, and can use the energy of the medium to maintain itself to keep the outlet pressure basically unchanged when the inlet pressure and flow change.

(7) Steam traps
Steam traps are used in steam pipe networks and equipment to automatically discharge condensed water, air and other non condensed gases, and prevent the leakage of water and steam.
