The check valve in the water pump supply system mainly prevents the impact of high pressure water backflow on the pump impeller.During the operation of the system, when the pump stops running suddenly for some reason, the pressure inside the pump will disappear and the high-pressure water connected with the pump outlet will flow back to the pump in reverse.When the pump outlet is equipped with a check valve, it will immediately close to prevent the reverse flow of high-pressure water back to the pump.If the pump outlet is not installed check valve, high pressure water will reverse flow back to the pump, the pump impeller in the impact of high pressure water to produce reverse.The impingement load of high pressure water will make the impeller or other parts loose or damaged seriously.When the pump is running again, it may cause the impeller to fly out, which poses a great threat to the safety production.

In a hot water system, the main thing is to prevent hot water from flowing back into the pipe. If it is A PVC pipe, it may damage the pipe or even hurt people, especially in a solar water heater system.

Correct way to install check valves

1. The installation position, height and inlet and outlet direction must meet the design requirements. Note that the direction of medium flow should be consistent with the arrow direction marked by the valve body, and the connection should be firm and tight.

2. The valve must be inspected before installation.For valves whose working pressure is greater than 1.0mpa and whose function is to cut off the main pipe, strength and strict performance tests shall be carried out before installation, and the qualified valves shall be used only.During the strength test, the test pressure shall be 1.5 times of the nominal pressure, the duration shall not be less than 5min, and the valve shell and packing shall be qualified if there is no leakage.

3. Do not make the check valve bear the weight in the pipeline. The large check valve should be supported independently so that it is not affected by the pressure caused by the pipe system.
